South loop of the T.Roosevelt National Park
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is comprised of Three
units: The North Unit, the South Unit, and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit. We camped in
the South Unit and drove the 32 mile loop 3 times. The first was the evening we
set up camp. The next morning we drove the opposite way which gave us a
different view. Then that dusk we reversed our drive and enjoyed a beautiful
sunset. Like Yellowstone the bison go where they want and when you drive these
winding roads you have to beware. We came upon several within 6 feet of the
car.

These are Black Tailed Prairie Dogs
One of the calves we saw
This big fellow was just 6 feet away. Notice the shattered left antler.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Location: North Dakota
Established: November 10, 1978
Size: 70,447 acres
We spent 2 nights and 3 days exploring this park. Colors
have started changing.
Like Yellowstone National Park but smaller, like Bryce
National Park but smaller. Just a little jewel of a park. We were able to camp
inside the park.
