Winnebago Factory

Day 10 Checked in for our RV repair apt at 7am, yes folks that’s 7AM and we made it on time. Spent the morning traveling around Forest City and had lunch at our favorite park, Pammel Park. Returned before 3pm thinking all but the painting would be done. But when the service technician was showing us the repairs he made to the slide out, it broke completely. They think it’s a broken wire. So back tomorrow at 7am, yes, that’s A.M. for what we hope will be the final fixes.  When we returned to our free Winnebago campsite, we found a line of classic cars and one truck. The drivers were on a factory tour and we were able to take the photos just in time.

This was on our driving tour. We thought it very interesting.

To Mitchell South Dakota

Day 8 traveled from Rapid City SD to Mitchell and are staying at a nice RV park with grass and shade trees, nice people and it’s inexpensive. We went grocery shopping, had dinner and found a nice dog park, Shelby’s first dog park. Afterwards we drove past the Corn Palace which we had learned were undergoing major renovations. The weather has been warm and sunny every day.

A lovely little campground in Mitchell

The dogs love to lie in the grass as soon as we arrive

You can still visit the Corn Palace, but the iconic onion shaped domes are off.

Billings to Rapid City SD

Day 7 Billings to Rapid City South Dakota, originally we had planned on staying in Cabela’s lot. There was no grass for the dogs and 2 horses came to stay the night in the horse pen. Since Callie goes crazy around horses, we decided to check out Wal-Mart. No overnight RV parking in the Rapid City Wal-Mart. We inquired at several other stores and received the same news, so we returned to Cabela’s and parked in the front parking lot away from the horses.

Yes thru Wyoming the speed limit is 80, but we can only go 65 towing our car

Sometimes this is all you have at a roadside pull-out

"Are we there yet?" is all Shelby can think about
