City of Ships

Bath Maine is known as the City of Ships. It’s location is on the west side of a navigable, straight, 5-mile stretch of the Kennebec River, a site that has proven to be ideal for shipbuilding for more than 200 years. We visited the Maine Maritime Museum,  very interesting to see whether you’re a sailor or land lubber, made more so by the fact that one of our host’s family had much to do with the shipping industry.

It was a beautiful day! We took a drive to view this lighthouse, one of 116 in the state of Maine.

On our way to the lighthouse. What a beautiful day it was!

Our Home While in Bath Maine

July 25, 2013 Arrived yesterday afternoon at the seashore home of Liz and Ollie. Have a lovely campsite above their home with a great view of the water. Liz and Ollie took Judy, Callie and their dog Ginger out for a boat ride to photograph Osprey nests. Unfortunately the rains have followed us.
