Miniature cattle

A drive to Riverside Iowa to visit a couple we met at the Iowa State Fair, to see their miniature cattle.  (Oct. 15, 2016)

Randy feeding his cattle.

The black female on the left was born without horns or poled. She has birthed 6 calves without horns. If she throw a 7th hornless calf from the same bull (next to her) he will be worth more.

This is the bull. He is 1000# as opposed to a regular size bull at 2000#. He is the sire to all the calves.

I went to see the cattle in another field and they all came running. I though I was going to be stampeded.

Mom and calf. Females weigh 800# verses twice that much for standard cattle.

Lunch with Cheryl and Randy. It was a lovely visit.
