Friday
08/08/2014 The second day of the fair. We start out the morning watching the
Cowboy Mounted Shooting Contest. Both men and women participate at all levels
of skill. We found out that if the women wore skirts they didn’t have to wear
hats. Who made that rule? Their targets are balloons, white and red. The white
balloons are gates and the reds are in straight lines. They shoots blanks and
each rider has 2 pistols with 5 shoots in each, requiring a gun change in the
middle of the ride.
Next it’s the
cake decorating contest results, followed by a steel drum performance by Stan
Dahl and the Tropical Steel. This is an old friend of John and Helen.
Classic car
show was on the concourse, many vehicles Judy’s brothers and uncle would
appreciate.
