Heading back to the U.S.A.

After a final swim in the river, the girls get a bath in the RV shower before we leave Cornwall  KOA.

We took the ferry going to PEI and are driving back across the Confederation Bridge.
The 8 mile bridge opened on May 31, 1997.
Most of the curved bridge is 131 feet above water with a 197 feet navigation span for ship traffic.
When not in fog the views from the bridge are stunning. Here is the photo from our last trip followed by the photo this trip.

You can't even see the bridge!

This time we did not stop at the Visitor Center.

After crossing the bridge, the sky was clear. No fog.

At the border crossing.

We answered all the questions correctly and we're allowed back into the USA.

Some final thoughts about our visit to the Maritimes:
The scenery was beautiful! Homes and farms were meticulously maintained as were the RV parks. The people of the Maritimes were invariably courteous and helpful. Every province we visited though different had the same charming atmosphere.

Here folks even trim their drainage culverts.

In these fishing communities, it's not unusual to see a boat in the owners yard.

We loved our stay and we'll be back someday!
