Lunenburg is the best surviving example
of a planned British colonial settlement in North America. Established
in 1753, it has retained its original layout and overall appearance,
based on a rectangular grid pattern drawn up in the home country. The
inhabitants have managed to safeguard the city's identity throughout the
centuries by preserving the wooden architecture of the houses, some of
which date from the 18th century. We will post more pics later.
Lunenburg has free Wi-Fi throughout the city and it works great!
See the tours taking a picture of me taking their picture
It was a very foggy day and it rained and rained in the night
Work still goes on in the fog
Bluenose is represented on the Canadian dime. She's in dry dock and I had to take the picture through a chain-link fence.
