Day Two in the Kettle Moraine

After a night of torrential rain, thunder and lightning we ventured out to take the dogs swimming and visit the Headquarters of the state park.

There was only a short window of no rain. The skies look ominous and did start raining not long after these pictures were taken.

They had the water all to themselves!

Sandhill Cranes revisited and we wondered where they went during the horrible storm

The dogs thought this steel bison was real, barked like fools.

Insect motel, see sign below.

Eddie Lacey Moraine is an endangered Ornate Box Turtle approximately 13 years old. This is the only live specimen in the museum.

All the display animals were found dead and are native to this area. This is a Great Egret.

The hunting position on this red fox is perfect

Beaver

A skunk also know as a pole cat. You don't want to run into him nor over him.

Juvenile Bobcat

A prehistoric Giant Beaver weighing up to 600 pounds, found in the Kettle Moraine and a modern beaver skull. What a difference in size.

Enjoyed a late lunch out in Genessee Depot

A quaint store across the street
