Our Last Two Days at Lake Itasca

Let's take a cruise on Lake Itasca

The State Park swimming beach, no dogs allowed!

Several days ago we were on the land side of these headwaters. This is where the waters of Lake Itasca spill into what becomes the Mississippi River.

The waters of the lake are shared by kayakers, fisherman, swimmers and of course wildlife

A loon stretchering his wings, this is the state bird

Sorry we don't know what's biting

The dogs were allowed to join us on the cruise

The Minnesota State Flower is the Lady Slipper

The last morning we enjoyed breakfast out at the Historic Douglas Lodge

Beside this turtle we saw deer, a mink and a fox

A fire tower on the way out of the park
