Shubie Campground and surrounding green space

We have a lovely spot with plenty of 'front yard' for the dogs

There is a path from the campground to Lake Charles and a man-made canal connecting Lake Charles to Lake Mic Mac. Join us on our canal walk.

The welcoming committee includes this red squirrel

The duck pond adjacent to the locks.

Shelby would like hers deep fried.

These locks were constructed by early settlers in 1826-1831.

Susan takes the high road with her scooter. We walked the lower route.

When you reach Lake Mic Mac there is an off leash dog beach and many off leash trails.
Count the Wheatens in this picture. Scooby just happened to be at the beach.

The girls enjoyed a daily swim.

Depending upon the day, they're can be many dogs or just a few.

This sign makes you wonder if the neighborhood really wants the dog park here.

We walked both sides of the canal, one going and one coming. We saw these lily pads on the way back to camp.

Lovely burls!

This Honey bucket company has a good sense of humor.
